The brief
When an opportunity arose to become part of a crucial roster of digital agencies, ICF Next used it to re-energise how the Technology division was seen both internally and externally. With the Technology Director piloting the project internally, it was down to myself and a designer to bring together a raft of documentation that would define the division’s core services in a way that couldn’t be ignored.
The approach
Given that each area of ICF Technology required - as you could guess - technical knowledge. Naturally, I started by going straight to the source and sat down with key stakeholders across the division to produce detailed information sheets. This meant we had a reliable reference guide for everything we produced, getting buy-in right from the beginning.
Then, armed with a wealth of technical documentation, I broke the information down into the different service booklets and mapped out the relevant subservices that would need covering off. From there, it was a matter of constructing copy that balanced the intricate details with more approachable descriptions to maximise the accessibility for all possible audiences.
Following a bit of back and forth with the stakeholders to refine the information and acquire that all important sign-off, I worked with the designer to help build the flow of the document and ensure everything was presented in the best light possible (with a little fine-tuning so everything fit snuggly within the layouts.
The outcome
A collection of seven slick service booklets that put ICF Technology on everyone’s radar. Although the overall roster application became derailed once ICF decided to dissolve the UK side of things, the booklets themselves are still a testament to the services built by talented folks - with the Technology division standing proudly by the words I’d written.
